Who are we

Plant Pal is a non-profit charity platform founded with the aim of supporting Palestinian farmers
replant what settlers uproot and destroy on a daily basis. Plant Pal is a proud supporter of the
Palestinian Farmers Union (PFU). Every tree donated is directly sourced by the PFU and is given to
Palestinian farmers who need it the most.

The Palestinian Farmers Union
PFU was established in the late 1970s as the Palestinian Agricultural Relief Committee by Palestinian
agronomists and farmers. The main focus of the organisation at the time was to provide agricultural
services to Palestinian farmers after deliberate attempts by the Israeli government to marginalise
the agricultural sector in Palestine in the second half of the 70s. Between 2003 and 2010, PFU
developed and expanded its programs and activities to include farmer training, organizational
development, lobby and advocacy, representation and communication, tax refund, defense of land
and water rights, and specific commodity-oriented programs. PFU’s focus remains to defend the
rights of farmers and building the capacity of farmers’ organizations and sustainable agricultural
development, fuelled by the dream of an independent democratic Palestinian state. For more info
